How scoring works
Each practice is scored on a 0 to 5 scale. Scores are summarized by department and for the assessment as a whole. Risk is rated separately, and a maturity score is an internal measure of operational discipline rather than a customer outcome or an external benchmark.
Practice maturity = score ÷ 5 × 100
Department maturity = sum of scores ÷ (scored practices × 5) × 100
Overall maturity = sum of department scores ÷ number of scored departments
Department maturity = sum of scores ÷ (scored practices × 5) × 100
Overall maturity = sum of department scores ÷ number of scored departments
- Unanswered practices are excluded rather than counted as zero.
- A score of 0 that you select is included.
- Departments with no scored practices are excluded from the overall score.
- Each department has equal influence, regardless of how many practices it contains.
- Risk levels do not affect maturity scores.
- Results are rounded to one decimal place.
